the garden
This is our garden this year. We have three cherry tomato plants purchased at Boggy Creek Farm back in April. There has been quite a bit of squabbling between the kids about which plant belongs to whom as two plants had seven tomatoes and one had only three; the tally is now 9, 9, and 7. Only one of them has ripening tomatoes which is somewhat miraculous as the leaves yellow probably due to a lack of nitrogen in the soil. We've now parked my van in front of the tomatoes so they only get sun for half the day in an effort to keep them from dying of heat stroke. Water is once again not overly plentiful around these parts, so Daddy-o and the kids are having to water them daily, and even that doesn't seem to be enough.Because my hopes are not high for a meal's worth of tomatoes any time soon, I've taken to buying them at the Angel Valley farm stand on Wednesday morning. They are both gorgeous and delicious.
