happy boys

Local blackberries and peaches have come into season. The boys are ecstatic. T has been bugging me for weeks that he wants fresh peaches. So they went to the Austin Farmer's Market yesterday and picked some up. We had blackberries with dinner last night, and blackberries, peaches, and strawberries in oatmeal for breakfast this morning.

Since they are out of school on a break and Grandpa is in town visiting, they also went to Boggy Creek Farm and picked some of the waning strawberries yesterday. They ran into one of their teachers and her daughter there. After checking out the chickens, they went to see Dolphins and Whales at the Bob Bullock Museum (along with touring the museum). The kids all liked the movie, and B really liked the 3D glasses. They ran into a classmate there.

Lunch was at Zocolo Cafe. They burnt off some energy at Ramsey Park and ran into another classmate there. Then they hit the Austin Farmer's Market before coming home exhausted. While at the Farmer's Market, T lost his seventh tooth. He's very proud of that. J is still one ahead in the lost tooth count.

There may be photodocumentation, but I haven't had access to the camera yet, so I may update this entry later with pictures.

Ooooh - was the IMAX movie ok for, say, a three and a half year old? I'd love to take both my kids to that.

And Zocolo is one of my favorite places. A friend and I were just talking about that place the other day. YUM.

Daddy-o says that if your 3.5 year old can handle the 3D glasses, he'd probably be fine. The movie won't work without the glasses, but it also means that you get "water" splashed at you on occasion or end up with a whale in your face which could be a little startling. But it's not scary per se.
