Blue Dog (c. 1994 - 2008)
On Thursday, April 17, 2008, Blue Dog died. Daddy-o and I had adopted him on February 26, 1997 from the Williamson County pound when he was about three years old, and we had 11 years with him as part of our family. He has had a heart condition for over five years now, and he wasn't expected to live six months beyond his initial diagnosis. We are grateful for all the "extra" time we had with him, but all of us are still very much missing him. We had no
t expected him to go into acute heart and lung failure on Thursday just when it seemed like he was getting over the pancreatitis he had been battling for the previous seven weeks.I hope to write more about him, but not today. The pictures are from last Saturday when we were out gardening in the front yard.
