high tech discovery at Explore UT
TBnJ went to Explore UT on Saturday afternoon. This is the fourth time they've attended. The first time we went was in 2004, and we mainly stayed on the liberal arts side of campus. In 2006 and 2007, they went with Daddy-o and hung out mainly in the science and engineering part of campus. This year they went to the liberal arts side again. There's just too much to do all in one day. They went to the "Mad Hatter’s Tea Party" put on by Liberal Arts. The net result of that was that I
found them watching Alice in Wonderland on Sunday morning when I came downstairs. They rarely watch that movie. They also made shields and hats and crowns (also sponsored by Liberal Arts). They played with various building materials and tents sponsored by the School of Architecture. They watched the Longhorn Marching Band perform.
But the most amazing thing they saw all day was this really cool piece of technology called a typewriter. They were in awe. They wanted to know if we could get
one and why we didn't have one. All of them took turns writing on it. B's piece reads:benjaminfranklin
he did lots of k jobs
[the k was a typo]
