Saturday morning around the house
We're working on rearranging and straightening up around the house today. It's a slow and constant order of business around here. Amongst the tasks is getting the Legos organized. TBnJ are supposed to build all the sets (complete torture for T) and then put them into boxes with all the proper
pieces together. This is probably impossible. I'm sure we'll have a "spare parts" bucket even when the task is accomplished. In the photos above, T was "working" on the space shuttle Legos which Daddy-o got for Christmas a few years ago while Red Dog supervised. B was working on his airplane and airport. J was finding odd things and moving boxes.
However, J would much rather build real things like furniture than mess with models like Legos. These pictures are so typical of her. She's all dressed up in her new long sleeved leotard ($5 at kidsurplus.com) and capri footless stockings. She has a Hawaiian flower barrette in her hair. And she's wielding a mean Allen wrench.
She and Daddy-o built a new desk to allow Daddy-o to work in the family room in the evenings. The table he was using wasn't the most comfortable. Blue Dog has recently decided in a burst of 14 year old dog senility that he must have a human around him frequently during the day and evening. Thus, if Daddy-o wants to get work done in the evenings, it's easier for him to be downstairs with Blue Dog rather than upstairs in his office chasing the Blue Dog 
back downstairs every five minutes (since dogs aren't allowed upstairs in our house due to allergies and the fact that Blue Dog does nothing but cause trouble upstairs). We also are setting up the kids' computer on that table in the family room so that we can supervise their computer time, infrequent as it is.Labels: around the house, dogs
