Lord of the Beans
Lord of the Beans is obviously a parody of Lord of the Rings. The few scenes I saw of it were amusing. The kids thought it was fabulous and extremely funny (and they don't get any of the parody since they've never been exposed to Lord of the Rings). They've all watched it more than once.
In the bonus features, there is a "how to draw Veggie Tales" section. J decided to do this activity this morning. Above at left is Jimmy the Gourd as Leg-o-Lamb, and at right is Junior Asparagus as Toto Baggypants. I think she did a remarkably good job. She just sat there with her Princess lap desk and the remote, stopping and starting the disc as she needed. J unfortunately used some recycling bin paper rather than grabbing fresh paper off of the fax machine like T does, so there's some bleeding of stuff from the other side on the scans.
The secondary movie of the weekend (lasting all of 26 minutes) was Bill Nye's "Electrical Current." T said it was "ok-- but just barely." B liked it better than J and T. All of them found Lord of the Beans much more interesting!
