the asparagus onion
This onion had already started sprouting when we got it from Greenling, but it continues to grow. The kids have nicknamed it "the asparagus." Daddy-o and B have determined that there are a total of eight sprouts coming out of it. I am planning on sacrificing it tonight for dinner, but I might get outvoted. I think this thing is turning into a pet.Edited to add: Well, they won. The onion was mushier than I would want to use. I didn't even try to dissect it. They will be planting it in the front garden.
