T came up with a realization at dinner the other night: "Are there Star Wars books for kids that I could read?" Daddy-o reads the adult Star Wars fiction, and there are a bunch of youth books in the series that Daddy-o hasn't read. So we got three of the youth books out on Wednesday from the library, and Daddy-o is going to read them to make sure they are ok for T to read. We're sure he can handle them on an academic level, but we want to make sure that he's mature enough for the content.
In a similar manner, the most recent Lego catalog showed up in the mail a few nights ago. T reads these with great devotion and memorizes their contents. He took it to his room and was not to be heard from again. We practically had to use a crowbar to get him out of there for dinner. Last night, Daddy-o got the new Lego Educator's catalog in the mail from his stint as a leader of a Junior First Lego League group. He sat down at the kitchen table to read it, tuning the rest of us out. There's no question where T gets this from!
