the Cats and Bats Ball

On Sunday evening, the Austin Children's Museum hosted a parade from City Hall to the museum. When the kids got to the museum, there was a members only party. We happen to have a membership this year for a variety of reasons and have gotten our money's worth out of it, though I'm not sure we'll renew it next year. Anyway, on Sunday, T was whining at me because I wouldn't let them go to Whole Foods to get the ingredients for some baking he wanted to do. I told him he could either go to Whole Foods or he could go to a party at the ACM (which we hadn't mentioned previously). T quickly decided Whole Foods wasn't worth it and that he would much rather go to the party. J and B also put in loud votes in favor of ACM, too. Then B told me, "We all agreed. Three votes for the Children's Museum."

At the Children's Museum, they ran into a set of twins from T&J's class last year and had fun playing with them. TBnJ hadn't seen the newest Nano, Pico, Micro exhibit, so they had fun with that. There were various Halloween crafts to do, too.

After they got home and were getting ready for bed, B was talking about it all with great enthusiasm. He told me, "You know the parade? Guess where it ended? At the Children's Museum! It really went to the Children's Museum!" I'm not so sure why that was a surprise, but it was exciting to him. He was also talking a bunch about how the train that runs around the ceiling there was new.
