a busy weekend

Yesterday TBnJ went to Ecology Action to recycle glass and boxes which our local recycling company won't take much to the annoyance of Daddy-o and me. Then they went to Boggy Creek Farm to check out the chickens and buy some vegetables. Then they were at their school for a work day and potluck which means they ran around on the playground for 2.5 hours with friends while Daddy-o worked digging trenches in the organic gardens. They came home completely exhausted and watched videotaped Tom and Jerry after a nap.

This morning the boys all got some much needed haircuts. It was also Austin Museum Day, so for fun this year they went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. They didn't do much hiking because it was hot, but they looked at a bunch of the exhibits which were inside. It was the first trip there for Daddy-o and B, but T&J had been there twice before with friends and on a school field trip. B was most impressed by the observation tower. T was most dismayed by the fact that the traveling Big Bugs Exhibit was no longer there. J thought the best part was lunch that they had on the picnic grounds.

After that adventure, they headed to Dart Bowl for a birthday party of a school friend. They had fun playing with classmates from last year's class. T said he had the highest score for the kids, a 94 (with bumpers). Daddy-o said he had a personal best of 203 (I think).

Unfortunately, the camera ran out of batteries, so no interesting photos are available.
