flying kites

Yesterday TBnJ took Grandpa to see the Austin Nature and Science Center since he hadn't seen it before. T is shown at left looking at one of the inside displays. After checking out the inside, the kids dug up a few dinosaur bones but weren't as in to it as last time.

In the afternoon, TBnJ decided to go fly kites since it was a gorgeous sunny day out. J had a huge unicorn kite that had never been assembled or flown, and T had a monster truck one. With the assistance of Grandpa and Daddy-o, the kites were created and were actually airborne for a while.

The highlight of the kite flying, though, was watching another little boy's kite escape from his grasp, fly away, and land in a tree where it continued to flutter and fly. All three kids seemed to think that if the other boy's dad hadn't been talking on his cell phone so much, he could have caught the runaway kite.
