busy day
The kids had a busy day today. First they went to the pharmacist to get drugs for Red Dog who is starting treatment for Cushing's Disease tomorrow. Then they went to the blood lab to help Daddy-o get blood drawn. He pointed out repeatedly to them that he didn't scream or cry or even say ouch. I still don't think they buy it.Then the fun of the day started. They went to a "Mock Surgery" day at Seton Ho
spital off 38th St. The kids really had fun with that. J's favorite things was getting her blood pressure taken (as well as everyone else's blood pressure). B really liked getting to play with endoscopy equipment to get candy out of the stomach of dummies. J was pretty impressed by that too. J also liked getting to play with a hospital bed. T seemed to like it all but he wasn't as set on any one thing. After two hours at the crowded but fun hospital, they went to Central Market for lunch and playground time. And then they headed downtown to the Faulk Branch of the Austin Public Library to check out books. They love going to the main branch of the library because it has the best selection of books in their opinion. J got some Junie B. books, T got some Hardy Boys and Boxcar Children books, and B got Franklin books. So everyone was happy.
Then for the final event of the day they listened to a steel drum concert. They spent about an hour listening to the concert before they burnt out and headed home. They are all very tired now!
