not so much snow
We didn't really get any more snow today, but that didn't stop the kids from trying to make snowballs. It was pretty ice laden snow because of the sleet, but the kids made the best of it they could. T is holding the one snowball they managed to make. It is now sitting on the front porch.Also shown are the eruptions of ice on the trampoline. T went under the trampoline (normally forbidden, but no one was getting on the trampoline because the stairs were pretty iced over) and was banging which was resulting in eruptions of
the nice layer of ice and snow on the trampoline. That's actually probably the thickest layer of ice anywhere: the trampoline probably has the same phenomenon as the flyovers and bridges in that there is cold air underneath to help with freezing.The weather forecasters are tempting us with the prospects of snow overnight-- a decent snowfall instead of just a dusting. We remain hopeful. On the other hand, another day off school in a row so close to Christmas vacation isn't appreciated by the multitude of parents in the Austin area. We don't know yet if school will be closed.
T, B, and J had dentist appointments today, and they were all very upset that they were cancelled. The kids LOVE going to the dentist. We have promised them the appointments will be rescheduled. Just not tomorrow the way they want.
