snow when you're in Austin
We sent the boys outside today to burn off energy while we cleaned and rearranged furniture. J has a fever so we kept her in. The boys went on the trampoline in the back yard to burn off some of their energy. We have a Chinese parasol tree which has huge leaves. They're amazingly big. Anyway, seeing as how it's almost Christmas, it is time for the leaves to start dropping. When they do, the trampoline beneath the tree serves as one big leaf collector. T and B got on the trampoline, and instead of removing the leaves, they just jumped in them. Then T started throwing them up by the armful and screaming, "SNOW!" When in Austin, you have to do with what nature gives you.
T really would like some real snow. He spent Thursday evening trying to convince me that we would have snow overnight in Austin. When I wouldn't agree to it (not because I don't want snow but because it wasn't in the forecast), he switched his tactic and started asking for a blizzard. Then he started asking for hail. Poor kid.
And here are the elves helping rearrange the furniture. Our family room was previously the toy room; the living room was our tv room; the dining room was an empty space where we folded laundry. We have now moved the tv room to the family room and have spread the toy room out across the formal living and dining rooms. It uses the space in the house much better. We also took down the last of the downstairs babyproofing today. J helped unscrew the electric socket covers from the wall. She loves to work with tools. The boys played with Marbleworks instead.
