up the river
Normally when Daddy-o and the kids take the dogs for a walk in the neighborhood, they go on the dirt gravel hike-and-bike trail that runs parallel to a wet-weather creek on a greenbelt. The greenbelt also continues on the other side of the major street in our neighborhood, but there are no gravel trails on that side, nor is there much shade. Yesterday for a change, the kids, the dogs and Daddy-o went across the road and on the wilder side of the green belt. All evening long B kept saying that they had gone "up the river." The idea of this very dry creekbed being a river is really amusing, but there was no convincing B that it's just a creek.
B has finally figured out what Blue Dog and Red Dog's real names are and is using them correctly.
B also declared this afternoon in an almost shocked manner, "Daddy, you are taller than Momma." For those who have never seen us in person, Daddy-o is a full 12" taller than I am. This wins an obvious statement award on B's part.
