Austin Museum Day
Today was Austin Museum Day. TBnJ and Daddy-o went out this morning to the always popular Austin Children's Museum. However, before they headed out, there was much discussion about where they were going to go. Unfortunately, most of the museums didn't open until after noon, so they needed to pick something that opened this morning. T wanted to go to "the south children's museum where we went with Grandpa" which is the McKenna Children's Museum in New Braunfels. We explained that wasn't in Austin and it wasn't free today, so that wasn't going to happen. He then wanted to go to the dinosaur museum which is Texas Memorial Museum (or now the Texas Natural Science Center) which didn't open until the afternoon. We settled on the ACM because it was the most interesting museum (to them) that was open. B then announced, "We have to wait for Grandpa." Since Grandpa won't be in town for another month, we vetoed that idea, too. So they all headed downtown for some play time at the ACM.
Afterwards, they also checked out Umlauf Sculture Garden where they had never been before. They really enjoyed playing with clay there and making their own sculptures.
